What a day.
On Saturday 18th July, we held our first Varty’s Family Fun Day at Ince Rose Bridge Sports and Community Club.
As part of our 90th anniversary celebrations, we wanted to bring local families together and create a bit of fun.
We also wanted to raise money for a couple of causes very close to our hearts.
You didn’t let us down.
Thanks to everyone who supported us!
We are delighted to announce that the day raised an incredible £1,084 for EPiC Hope CIC and Lexi’s fund.
We could not have done it without you.
A huge thank you to Ince Rose Bridge
First of all, we want to say a massive thank you to Ince Rose Bridge Sports and Community Club for helping us make the day happen.
From the planning beforehand to everything involved on the day itself, the club welcomed us, supported the event and gave us the perfect place to bring the community together.
Holding our first Family Fun Day there felt exactly right.
Thank you to every volunteer
Events like this simply do not happen without people giving their time.
Thank you to every volunteer who helped set up, ran activities, sold tickets, looked after stalls.
You welcomed visitors, kept things moving and stayed behind afterwards to help clear everything away.
There is always so much happening behind the scenes at a community event, and every pair of hands made a difference.
We are incredibly grateful.
Thank you to our traders and supporters
We were also joined by a brilliant group of traders, stallholders, businesses and organisations who helped make the day what it was.
Thank you to everyone who brought a stall, provided an activity, donated a prize, supported the fundraising or contributed in any other way.
Our Family Fun Day was always meant to feel like a proper community event, and having so many local people and businesses involved helped create exactly that atmosphere.
And thank you to everyone who came
Of course, the biggest thank you goes to everyone who turned up.
You visited the stalls, joined in the games, watched the rugby, bought food and refreshments, made donations and helped create such a lovely atmosphere throughout the day.
Seeing families enjoying themselves together was exactly what we had hoped for when we first started planning the event.
You helped turn an idea into something really special.
EPiC Hope is our chosen charity throughout Varty’s 90th anniversary year, and we are proud to support the work they do around suicide prevention and supporting people within our local community.
Every pound raised on the day will help support that work.
For us, that is what made the event particularly worthwhile.
Celebrating 90 years by giving something back
As we celebrate our 90th year, we wanted the anniversary to be about the community that has supported our family business for generations.
Throughout the year, we have been finding different ways to give something back, raise awareness and support local organisations.
Our first Family Fun Day was another part of that.
And judging by the support we received, we may have started something we will have to do again!
